Apr 20, 2011 Summer is quickly approaching. For students that means fun, sun, family vacations and summer jobs. But summer can also mean scholastic, scholarship and professional opportunities. Although community service looks great on applications and resumes; there’s much more to it than that. Community service is a great way to become active in the causes that interest you. It can also be a fantastic way to meet people.

There are several things you can do to help your chances:
1) make sure you let them know you want to be put on the waiting list
2)talk with your guidance counselor for their recommendations
3)correspond with the admissions rep, advise them of your genuine interest in the school.
4)send the college any updates on your resume, awards, honors, etc.
In summary, look at it this way…
The college wants to learn more about you and why you think you would be a good fit at their institution
