The essay has become a very important part of the student’s
application as more and more colleges no longer allow personal
interviews. The essay is the student’s voice. Plan on spending quality
time developing your essay and anticipate several drafts! Short answer
questions shouldn’t be taken lightly, put lots of thought into them
also.
Remember the grandmother rule: You should feel comfortable having your grandmother reading your essay!!

see what makes each unique, and to see if you might be a good fit with
this college, you’ve got to mix it up on campus. Here are a few things
you should do before you conclude your visit.
- Talk to students
- Read bulletin boards
- Eat at a cafeteria
- Talk to the admissions office
- Read the college newspaper
