By now, you should have gotten your award letters in from the colleges you applied to. If your financial situation or status has changed dramatically please do not hesitate to contact the financial aid office of the schools that your are interested in attending. Individual schools have discretion on altering your package should funds be available and you are a desirable student.
Try to avoid private loans if at all possible.

Do a cost analysis of the colleges you are deciding between. Make sure you are using total costs to include room and board, fees, and spending money as you compare them. Often, the private schools end up being less expensive than one might think!
If your financial situation has changed during the current year you should discuss this with the financial aid department at the schools on your list.
