     Darlington School – Rome, Georgia

    • Coeducational, college-preparatory school for students in pre-K through grade 12, with boarding in grades 9-12.
    • 95% of Darlington alumni graduate from college on time or early.
    • In the past 5 years, Darlington seniors have been awarded over $29.7 million in college scholarships, not including HOPE
    • The 135 members of the Class of 2012 were accepted to 181 different colleges and universities and attended 74 institutions in 24 states; Washington, D.C.; and Canada.
    • In 2012, 173 Darlington students took a total of 392 AP Exams, and 80.3% of these exams scored 3 or higher. Nationally, the average number of exams scoring 3 or higher is only 61%.

In order to make these rankings, Kiplinger measures each school’s admission rate, test scores for incoming freshmen, the graduation rate in four and six years, student –faculty ratios, the total cost per year after need-based aid (not including loans) and average debt at graduation. These six universities are:

# 50 – University of Alabama
