As the May 1st deadline approaches we thought we would share some tips:

Do a cost analysis of the colleges you are deciding between. Make sure you are using total costs to include room and board, fees, and spending money as you compare them. Often, the private schools end up being less expensive than one might think!

If your financial situation has changed during the current year you should discuss this with the financial aid department at the schools on your list.

Try to stay away from private loans if at all possible.

If you have questions about your award letter, don’t hesitate to call the school. You don’t have to accept loans that may be offered to come up with the total cost of attendance.
